‘The First Thing I Will Do When I Buy Arsenal Is To Fire Wenger’ – Aliko Dangote

[Sports] ‘The first thing I will do when I buy Arsenal is to fire Wenger’ – Aliko Dangote

Aliko Dangote who has in the past hinted that he has plans to buy Arsenal has come out to say he will sack Arsenal’s current coach, Arsene Wenger, when he buys the English club.
The richest man in Africa said this in an interviewwith Bloomberg; Here’s excerpts below;FL- You’ve mentioned wanting to buy Arsenal Football Club before. Is that still on your wish list? Dangote:Yes, but I don’t want to go after Arsenal until I deliver the refinery. Once I deliver, I will go after Arsenal.
FL – There are no other clubs you’d want to buy? Dangote:I don’t change clubs. Even when Arsenal isn’t doing well I still stick by them. It’s a great team, well-run. It could be run better, so I will be there. I will wait. Even if things change I will take it and make the difference going forward.FL – Do you think Stan Kroenke and Alisher Usmanov would sell their stakes?Dangote:Well, you know anything is possible in this world. If they get the right offer, I’m sure they would walk away. We’ll be in a position to give them the right offer. They will not hold Arsenal forever. Someone will give them an offer that will make them seriously consider walking away. And when we finish the refinery, I think we will be in a position to do that.FL – How would you change things? Dangote:The first thing I would change is the coach. He has done a good job, but someone else should also try his luck.FL – If you were playing for Arsenal, would you be a striker, defender, goalkeeper, or the manager? Dangote:I would rather be a striker. Naturally, I’m an aggressive person. I don’t want to be part of the support team. I want to be the one scoring the goals.FL – When did you start loving the club?Dangote: In the mid-’80s. I was introduced to a man named David Dein, who was Arsenal’s vice chairman, through a friend of my uncle’s. He was the first person who showed me a cargo of sugar in 1980, when I started importing. I started buying sugar, and he started taking me to the stadium.FL – Just wondering: Would you ever run for president? You’re still young. Maybe in 10 or 15 years?Dangote: I’m old—60.FL – That’s young!Dangote:No, I’m not interested. There’s quite a lot we can do from the business side. I enjoy a lot of what I am doing, and I also love my freedom—and I don’t have too much. The little I have, politics would take away. I am not ready to give that up. There are businessmen who are interested in politics. I’m not one of them.

Alvaro Morata Debuts In Chelsea's Pre Season Loss To Bayern Munich

Morata debut

Alvaro Morata made his first appearance in Chelsea blue but the 70million pounds record signing was unable to prevent his new team sliding to defeat against Bayern Munich.

Alvaro Morata made his first appearance for Chelsea as they continued their pre-season preparations with a 3-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup on Tuesday.
Morata Debute as Bayern Munich Defeats the Blues in Pre-season Match
The Bundesliga champions raced into a three-goal lead in Singapore, opening the scoring through Rafinha’s long-range strike after only six minutes.
That advantage was soon doubled by Thomas Muller’s close-range effort and Bayern’s captain further increased their advantage with a wonderful solo effort just before the half-hour mark.
Bayern made a fast start to the contest, clearly stung by the drubbing they suffered at the hands of AC Milan in their last outing in the tournament.
The Bundesliga champions opened the scoring after just six minutes when right-back Rafinha picked up possession of the ball some 30 yards out, before the Brazil international strode forward and beat Thibaut Courtois with a low shot into the corner of the net.

Before the Blues could catch their breath, Bayern had doubled their lead as James Rodriguez – starting out wide on the right – picked out Franck Ribery on the opposite flank.
The winger’s quick feet then saw him get free to the byline, and his inch-perfect chip to the far post was volleyed home by the unmarked Muller.
Munich were buzzing in the opening half an hour, closing their opponents down at will and after James had spurned a glorious opening, Carlo Ancelotti’s team made it 3-0 after 27 minutes.
The rejuvenated Muller started his run inside his own half, before striding forward unchallenged and beating the helpless Courtois with a curling effort from just outside the area.
After a pre-arranged water break, Conte made a tactical tweak and got his players to start being more direct, with positive consequences as his side began to gain a foothold in proceedings.

However, the goal that got the Blues back into the contest owed nothing to that and everything to a lovely move involving Willian, whose clever dummy released Victor Moses down the right wing.
And when the wing back’s pull back reached Alonso on the opposite wing, the Spaniard launched an unstoppable drive into the top right-hand corner of the net.

Chelsea Officially Sign Tiemoue Bakayoko
Chelsea Officially Sign Tiemoue Bakayoko
Tiemoue Bakayoko is a Chelsea player having today completed a transfer from Monaco, Chelseafc.com reports.
Bakayoko, 22, is a tall, strong and quick central midfielder who was instrumental in Monaco’s Ligue 1 triumph last season, as well as their impressive run to the Champions League semi-finals.
He recently made his debut for France in the same line-up as new team-mate N’Golo Kante, and is widely recognised as one of the best young central midfielders in European football.
Bakayoko, who has signed a five-year contract and will wear the No.14 shirt, said: ‘I am very happy to be here and to join this great team. I have grown up watching Chelsea. Signing was the natural thing for me because it is a club I loved very much in my childhood.
‘I am now looking forward to evolving under this fantastic coach and alongside so many great team-mates.’
Technical director, Michael Emenalo added: ‘Tiemoue was outstanding as Monaco emerged as one of Europe’s best sides last season and we are delighted to welcome him to Chelsea.Chelsea Officially Sign Tiemoue Bakayoko From Monaco [See Photos]

‘Despite his young age he already has plenty of experience as a French title winner and having competed in the latter stages of the Champions League, we believe he will add considerable quality to our squad.’
In possession, Bakayoko typically plays quickly and simply but has the ability to be more expansive if required, and is strong in a one-on-one situation.

His physicality, awareness and timing in the tackle means he is superb at winning the ball back and harassing opponents into mistakes. In a tight central midfield two at Monaco he starred as they unexpectedly beat Paris St-Germain to the title and also reached the last four of the Champions League, knocking out Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund en route. Bakayoko scored the decisive goal in a thrilling two-legged tie against the Premier League side.

Born in Paris, Bakayoko came through the Rennes academy in the north-west of France and made his senior debut in August 2013, a week after his 19th birthday.
He signed for Monaco the following summer and made almost 100 appearances for the principality side during his three seasons there, scoring five goals.

Chelsea sign Roma defender Antonio Rudiger on five-year deal

Antoni Rudiga
The Germany international is Antonio Conte’s second summer signing following the arrival of Willy Caballero.
Chelsea have made their first major signing of the summer with the arrival of Roma defender Antonio Rudiger on a five-year contract.
The 24-year-old Germany international will reportedly cost the Stamford Bridge club an initial £29million with add-ons potentially taking the deal to £33.3m.
Rudiger will take over the number two shirt left vacant after Branislav Ivanovic’s departure to Zenit St Petersburg in February.
“It’s a great feeling because not every player has the opportunity to join a huge club like this,” the defender, who was a member of Germany’s victorious Confederations Cup-winning team last weekend, told chelseafc.com.
“I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and I’m very proud to officially become a Chelsea player.”
Chelsea’s only other signing so far this summer is Manchester City’s out-of-contract goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

*OFFICIAL💥: Rooney⭐ Seals Everton Move🔁*

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney has completed a return to boyhood club Everton after 13 years playing for Manchester United.

The two clubs have been locked in transfer negotiations this week, with Romelu Lukaku set to go the other way for an estimated £75 million.

The England striker, 31, left Goodison Park in 2004 for £25.6m and returns for a reported £10m to help fill the void left by Lukaku's departure.

Rooney becomes the latest arrival at Goodison Park in an ambitious summer rebuild by Ronald Koeman, with big-money deals for the likes of Jordan Pickford, Micheal Keane, Davy Klaassen and Sandro Ramirez already wrapped up.

"Wayne has shown me that ambition that we need and that winning mentality – he knows how to win titles and I’m really happy he’s decided to come home,” Everton manager Ronald Koeman told the official Everton site.

Lukaku set for medical before £75m move to Manchester United

Romelu Lukaku was due to have his medical in Los Angeles on Thursday night before sealing a £75m move to Manchester United, with the striker expected to join José Mourinho’s squad when they arrive in the city on Sunday for the club’s five-game pre-season tour of America.

Lukaku has been holidaying in California with United’s Paul Pogba, who is a good friend and who has the same agent, Mino Raiola. The 24-year-old was due to fly back to England on Friday for pre-season training with Everton.

However, as Mourinho is intent that Lukaku should be confirmed as United’s second summer signing as soon as possible, the manager has decided this is the best way to push the transfer through.

The move means that, barring a last-minute hitch, United will have landed Lukaku ahead of Chelsea despite the west London club believing they were in pole position to prise him from Everton.

Breaking!!! Manchester United Agree £75m Everton’s Romelu Lukaku Deal And End Real Madrid’s Morata Chase

The Europa League winners have swooped to tee up a transfer for the long-time Chelsea target and have ended their interest in the ex-Juventus man

Manchester United have agreed to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku for £75 million while reportedly ending their interest in Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

Lukaku had seemed destined to move to Chelsea this summer but United have swooped after the Blues struggled to make headway on a deal.

United boss Jose Mourinho is hopeful that the transfer of Lukaku will be completed in time for the Belgian to fly out with the first-team squad for the summer tour of the USA on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Reds have reportedly pulled out of negotiations with Real Madrid for 24-year-old Morata.

They had reached favourable terms with the player’s advisers but Goal reported on Wednesday that United’s final €80m offer had been rejected by the European champions, who value Morata at €90m.

Lukaku will be reunited with his former Chelsea boss Mourinho if the transfer is completed, although the 24-year-old only played three games under the Portuguese in 2013-14 before being sent on a season-long loan to Everton. He was then sold to the Toffees the following summer for £28m.

United have already added Benfica defender Victor Lindelof to their squad this summer but Lukaku’s signing for the second-largest fee in the club’s history would be their most high-profile move yet in 2017.

Rooney's everton shirt number leaked

The Red Devils’ all-time top scorer is set to seal a return to Goodison Park and the number he will represent has been leaked

Wayne Rooney will wear the number 10 shirt at Everton once he completes his move from Manchester United, taking over from Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.

The long-standing United captain looks set to complete a deal to return to Goodison Park in the coming days, 13 years after he left the Merseyside club to sign for the Red Devils.

Rooney has found it difficult to establish himself in Jose Mourinho’s side and has accepted his time at Old Trafford has come to an end, despite securing his status as United’s all-time highest scorer during the 2016-17 campaign.

Now 31, Rooney has donned the number 10 since the 2007-08 campaign, having previously worn number eight for his first three years in Manchester.

And with Lukaku looking increasingly likely to leave Everton this summer, Rooney can retain his favoured number at his new club.

Chelsea are favourites to land the Belgium striker, who scored 25 league goals last term, though United are also considering a substantial bid as they look to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And while Rooney has also been linked with a move to China, former Everton defender Kevin Kilbane believes a return to his boyhood club would prove a sensible one for the former England star.

“To go to Everton might be a good move for him because the way he left Everton didn’t quite work well for him from a personal point of view,” he previously told Goal. “Growing up he was a huge Everton fan.

“I think it will be a good move but his agent said that he has got offers from around the world. So it might not necessarily be to stay in the Premier League.

“It looks to me that he will be leaving Old Trafford. He might come to Asia, China, one of the European clubs or stay in the Premier League and go to Everton.

“Wherever he goes, I think he will be a valued member of that side because I still think he has the ability and can produce what he has shown in the past.”

ROMELU LUKAKU TO MAN UTD?

With Everton forward Lukaku being open about his desire to compete in the Champions League, a summer move was always on the cards.

Antonio Conte had marked the former Blues forward as a potential replacement for the outgoing Diego Costa, who looks set for a Atletico Madrid reunion, though talks have not progressed as Chelsea would have liked.

As such, it has left the door open for Mourinho to make a move for the striker he worked with at Stamford Bridge during his time in charge in west London.

Lukaku’s status in the Premier League has exploded since he worked under the Portuguese however, having now hit double figures in five consecutive top-flight seasons.

The Belgian’s outstanding campaign last time out has seen him linked with a £100 million move to Old Trafford in the coming weeks.

Man Utd Complete Victor Lindelof's Signing See Photos And Read First Interview Here

Man u signs lindelof

Manchester United have signed Swedish defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica on a four-year deal.

The 22-year-old arrived at Manchester United's Aon Training Complex on Wednesday morning after the two clubs agreed a fee which Press Association Sport understands to be €35m (£30.75m).
United boss Jose Mourinho told the club's official website: "Victor is a very talented young player, who has a great future ahead of him at United.
"Our season last year showed us that we need options and quality to add depth to the squad and Victor is the first to join us this summer.

"I know that our fantastic group of players will welcome him as one of us."
Lindelof had arrived in Manchester fresh from international duty with Sweden, where he was an unused substitute in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Norway.
Lindelof has been a long-time target for United as they look to bolster their defensive options ahead of next season's return to the Champions League.

He told United's official website: "I am thrilled to be joining Manchester United.
"I have enjoyed my time at Benfica enormously and I have learned a lot there. But I'm looking forward to playing in the Premier League at Old Trafford and for Jose Mourinho.
"I'm keen to get started and make my contribution to the team's efforts to win more trophies."
Lindelof could be one of three or four high-profile acquisitions at Old Trafford this summer, with the club also understood to be keen on Alvaro Morata.
The Real Madrid forward's agent said earlier this week that United had lodged a "very important offer" with the Spanish giants to try to bring him to the north west of England.

Here, Lindelof gives his first interview as a United player, exclusively on MUTV

On joining Manchester United
'It feels great, and I'm very happy to be here at this great club. I couldn't be happier. Of course, it feels great knowing that the coach wants you, so to finally be here I'm very happy.
'Of course, United is one of the biggest clubs in the world and they always want to win titles, so that is also my goal. I want to come here and win titles. That is the goal of the club and the players as well.
'I think for everyone who is joining this club, it is changing [their life]. There are a lot of [United] supporters in Sweden.
On Jose Mourinho
'I've spoken to him, it was a good chat. It's very important for me too, to hear what he has to say, so it was good. Of course, he's a great coach and for me to be able to work with him is a great opportunity for me.'
Victor lindelof

On leaving Benfica
'I was in Benfica for five years, so for me to leave was a tough decision because I was happy there and I developed lots as a player. Like I said before, when this opportunity came it was very easy for me to pick it.'
On fellow Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic
'No actually, I haven't spoken to him [about United]. It's going to be nice to have him around, and to speak to him a little bit about the club and everything around it

On the type of player he is
'I'm quite a calm player. I like to have the ball at my feet, I'm good with the ball and I'm quite good at reading the game. I think I give the players in front a calmness, they know I'm back there to protect them the best I can.
'My position is a centre back, but I've played right back before and I started my footballing career as a midfielder. I see myself as a central defender, and I feel most comfortable there.'
On who he looks up to
'There's a lot of good centre backs, I can't pick just one. I try to learn from the best.'
On competition for places at Old Trafford
'Of course [I'm ready to fight for my place]. There are some great players here in my position, but I'm here to do my best and try and help the team as good as I can. It's always good to have other good players around you because when you have that I think you get better as well.
On 'dream' move to England
'I've always had that dream of coming here and to play in the Premier League, so for me it's a dream come true.
'Everywhere you go you have to adapt to a new environment, but I feel comfortable in myself and I trust myself so it's going to be tough but I'm looking forward to it.'
On Champions League experience
'It's been great to play against some really good teams, so for me to be able to play in the Champions League has been good and I have learned a lot from those games.'
Victor lindelof

On walking out of Old Trafford tunnel for the first time
'I think it's going to be a great feeling. I've seen a lot of games on TV but I've never been at the stadium so I think it's going to be a great feeling.
'Like you say, It's a very big club back home. They have a lot of supporters in Sweden. When you speak about the biggest clubs in the world, you always speak about Manchester. It's a great club and a great organisation.
On pre-season
'It's going to be very important for me to get the whole pre-season, to get to know the system here and all my team-mates. It's going to be very important.'
On free-kicks
'I'm quite good at [free-kicks], so if I get the opportunity to take one, I'll be there.'
And a message for the fans...
I just want to say to them how happy I am to be here, and that I am going to do my best to represent this club. I hope they enjoy it.'

Transfer Update: Manchester United Announce Victor Lindelof Deal

Man Utd Announce Victor Lindelof Dea

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Benfica for the signing of defender Victor Lindelof in a deal expected to be worth £31m.
The 22-year-old has been on the Red Devils' radar since the start of the year, having reportedly been made the subject of a failed bid in the winter transfer window.
United boss Jose Mourinho is now on the brink of landing his man after drawn-out negotiations, despite the Sweden international recently playing down talk of a switch between the two sides being imminent.

A short statement on the club's official website on Saturday evening confirmed the news, reading: "Manchester United is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement with Benfica for the transfer of Victor Lindelof, subject to a medical examination, international clearance and personal terms."
Lindelof penned a new contract at the Estadio da Luz earlier this year after seeing a proposed move to Old Trafford collapse, which helped to drive up his valuation past the £30m mark.
United are also said to be on the brink of sealing a double swoop for strikers Andrea Belotti and Alvaro Morata, as Mourinho continues to strengthen his squad all over.

Lionel Messi Set To Sign New Barca Deal Keeping Him At Camp Now Till 2021 or 2022
Lionel Messi has agreed in principle to a new deal at Barcelona, which will tie him to the La Liga club until 2021 or 2022.

Messi has only one year left on his current contract, but intends to continue under new manager Ernesto Valverde.

Spanish newspaper, Marca, reports that the 29-year-old’s pay packet will vary from year to year. With the agreement close, lawyers will draft up the contracts in the coming weeks.
Messi managed 54 goals in all competitions for Barcelona in just 52 games last season.

It was only enough for the Camp Nou side to win the Copa del Rey, as they were beaten to the league title by rivals Real Madrid and got eliminated from the Champions League by Juventus.
